Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) has been upgraded to Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is a premier educational institution with more than 50 years of excellence in providing quality and affordable education. Known then as Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College) since its inception in 1969, the institution has grown from strength to strength offering Pre-University, Diploma, Bachelor Degree as well as Postgraduate programmes.

Today, TAR UMT has a student population of more than 34,000 pursuing more than 200 programmes of study at its main campus in Kuala Lumpur and branch campuses in Penang, Perak, Johor and faculty branches in Pahang and Sabah. TAR UMT as a whole has produced more than 310,000 graduates since 1969.

The strength of TAR UMT’s education lies in the support of three critical pillars, namely being professionally driven, entrepreneurship-focused and industry relevant which have proven to have developed highly employable graduates nationally and globally. The programmes offered meet professional standards whereby maximum exemptions and accreditation have been granted by global and national professional bodies such as the ACCA, CIMA, MIA, CTIM,MAICSA, ICAEW, CIM, CILTM, FPAM, BOVAEP, BQSM, LAM, CIOB UK, RICS UK, BEM etc. TAR UMT has also forged strong linkage with many industry leaders, so as to facilitate the latest knowledge and technology transfer to the classroom, making it industry relevant.

TAR UMT offers programmes at Postgraduate, Undergraduate and Pre-University levels across seven academic faculties and one centre, including Applied Science, Computer Science, Mass Communication, Hospitality Management, Creative Arts, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Accounting, Business and Finance, Engineering, Built Environment, Postgraduate programmes, Foundation programmes etc.
