Chung Hwa Independent High School, Kelantan was established in 1918. It went through two divisions and five closures, encountering numerous challenges. In 1985, facing a decline in student enrollment, Chung Hwa was on the verge of its sixth closure. The Kelantan Chinese Association formed the "Chung Hwa Independent High School Revival Committee" to rescue Chung Hwa. This garnered support not only from the national Chinese community but particularly from the Chinese communities in the three East Coast states. This effort rescued Chung Hwa from its near extinction, marking the beginning of its stable and flourishing development.
Due to its remote location, over 90% of Chung Hwa Kelantan's students reside on campus. Surrounded by paddy fields, the campus boasts a beautiful environment that is highly conducive for children's learning and growth.
